When Gerry saw his mother sitting there helplessly, he immediately rushed over to her.
“What happened, Mom? Who got into an accident?”
“Your brother, sweetheart. Galaxy got into an accident.”
“What? Galaxy got into an accident? How is he now, Mom?”
With a deeply sorrowful expression, Rengganis answered, “The police said your brother is missing. He wasn’t inside the car, sweetheart.”
“Oh God. Mom, just stay calm for now, okay? Let’s call Dad. Gerry will also go to Galaxy’s accident site.”
Gerry immediately called his father and told him what had happened.
After calling his father and telling him to go straight to the scene, Gerry took his mother to follow him there.
“Sir, how is my son?” Arman asked the police officer inspecting the accident.
When Rengganis saw her husband speaking with the police, she immediately followed him with Gerry.
“Dear, how is Galaxy?”
The police officer who heard her immediately answered, “Sir, ma’am, I’m sorry, but we didn’t find your son inside this car.”
“If he isn’t here, then where is my son?” Rengganis asked through her tears.
“I suspect your son fell to the bottom of this cliff. My team and I will begin the search immediately.”
“Oh God, Galaxy…”
“Mom, you and Dad should just go home for now. Gerry will stay and help look for Galaxy.”
“No, I want to help look for your brother.”
When Arman heard that, he immediately embraced his wife. “Gerry’s right, dear. Let’s go home for now and let the police search for Galaxy. Gerry is here too. He can let us know if anything happens.”
In the end, Rengganis went home with Arman, while Gerry stayed to search with the police.
A police officer approached Gerry and handed him Galaxy’s phone and wallet.
“Are these your brother’s phone and wallet?” the officer asked.
“Yes, sir. May I take them?”
“Yes, go ahead.”
“Did Galaxy drive his car that fast? What actually happened to him before the accident?” Gerry wondered.
“It seems your brother may have been swept away in the river, sir. Since it’s already late at night, why don’t you go home and let our team continue the search?”
“All right, sir.”
After searching until nightfall without finding Galaxy, Gerry decided to go home, leaving the police to continue the search.
“Peace be upon you,” Gerry said when he arrived home.
“And upon you be peace. How is your brother, Gerry? Have they found him?” Rengganis asked as Gerry entered the house.
“I’m sorry, Mom. They still haven’t found Galaxy.”
“Oh God, where are you, Galaxy?” Rengganis cried.
Meanwhile, Bella and Okky met again. Okky told Bella about the accident that had befallen Galaxy.
“What? So Galaxy got into an accident after meeting us yesterday afternoon?”
“Yes, sweetheart. That’s what I heard from an employee at the office.”
“If Galaxy got into the accident that afternoon, then he never made it home. That means no one knows about you getting fired.”
“I’m going to take advantage of this situation.”
“What do you mean, take advantage of the situation?”
“I’ll pretend to be sad in front of Galaxy’s family, and you can keep working at Galaxy’s office. We’ll act normal, sweetheart, as if nothing happened. Galaxy’s spirit is gone too, right? Who knows whether he’s still alive or already dead,” Bella said with a sinister smile.
“You’re right, sweetheart. That way, I can keep working at Galaxy’s company, and our relationship will stay safe without them knowing.”
“That’s right. You’re so smart, sweetheart,” Bella said, gazing at Okky before they smiled at each other.
Without realizing it, their conversation had been captured by Sasha, Gerry’s lover, through her cell phone camera.
To be continued.
