Just as they were about to leave, Galaxy, who had just returned from the mosque, approached Raya and Dad with a worried expression.
“Peace be upon you,” Galaxy greeted them.
“And upon you, peace,” Raya and Dad replied in unison.
“There he is, sweetheart. Where have you been, Mirza?” Dad asked.
“I just finished praying at the mosque, Dad. Where are you and Raya going? You look like you’re in a hurry,” Galaxy asked in return.
“It’s Raya. She was panicking and looking for you because she thought you’d disappeared. So if you’re going somewhere, say goodbye first, Mirza,” Dad scolded Galaxy, who could only smile.
“What? Didn’t I already tell you I was going to the mosque? I even invited you to come along, but you said you’d rather pray at home,” Gala replied.
“So Dad knew Mirza had gone to the mosque? Why didn’t you tell me and instead panic with me?” Raya grumbled.
“Sorry, sweetheart. I forgot. I’m old, after all,” Dad chuckled.
“Nice excuse, Dad. Anyway, we’d better eat now. I’ve already prepared dinner. Come on, let’s eat,” Raya invited them.
“Okay, Ray,” Gala replied with a smile.
They had dinner together. Although Galaxy was used to living a luxurious life, he had now grown accustomed to living simply with Dad and Raya.
“Oh, right, Dad, Ray. Tomorrow I’m starting work at the rice shop down the road. The pay is small, but at least I can help Dad earn some money,” Galaxy began.
“Huh? You mean you’re going to work carrying sacks of rice? Are you strong enough?” Raya asked.
“Thank God, Ray. I’m feeling much better. Hopefully, I’ll stay healthy,” Galaxy replied.
“That’s right. A man has to be strong and work hard, not act spoiled. Back then, Dad couldn’t sit around and take it easy like kids these days. My life truly started from zero. I went through hardship and happiness, the sweet and the bitter. That’s why I’ve never complained as long as I haven’t found a reason to give up,” Dad explained. “Besides, you’re still young, Za. I’m sure you’re actually from a wealthy family, but since your memory hasn’t returned, we’ll let you live here for now.”
Dad continued advising Galaxy while patting him on the shoulder.
“Yes, Dad. I’ve learned a lot about life here. I’ve also felt the warmth of a family here, and it makes my heart feel at peace,” Galaxy said.
“All that matters to me is that you become a good person. Don’t cause trouble in this village. We have to respect one another,” Dad said with a warm smile.
“Yes, Dad. I understand,” Galaxy replied, nodding obediently.
Meanwhile, Raya continued watching Galaxy. It seemed that Raya had fallen in love with Galaxy, or rather, Mirza. But would her love really go smoothly?
Meanwhile, Arman was working on several reports and piles of paperwork at the office. He couldn’t focus at all because he kept thinking about Galaxy, who still hadn’t been found.
Knock, knock, knock…
The sound of knocking came from outside.
“Come in.”
“Excuse me, Uncle,” Leona said as she entered Arman’s office.
“Leona? What’s going on? What brings you to my office?” Arman asked.
“I came here looking for a job, Uncle. Maybe you could give me one,” Leona said with a smile.
“You want to work here? Did I hear you correctly? You’re a model, Leona,” Arman replied.
“Yes, I’m serious, Uncle. Modeling work has been slow lately. So instead of getting bored at home, I thought I’d find another job,” Leona said with a fake smile.
“All right, then. I’ll make you my secretary. My previous secretary resigned.” That was easy, lol.
“Are you serious, Uncle? Oh my gosh, thank you! I’m so happy. I promise I’ll work as hard as I can.” Leona smiled happily because her plan was going smoothly.
“Yes, Leona,” Arman replied.
Oh, sir. If only you knew—it was a snake trap.
To be continued.
