“Have you thought of any names?” Cole asks when we get into the car. I shrug as I fasten my seat belt.
“I have a few ideas. What about you?”
Cole nods, smiling as he pulls out of the parking spot. “Two.”
“Let’s hear them, then.”
“Well, I like the name Siena.”
“Siena Hoult.” I nod, smiling, but suddenly frown. “Wait, is that the name of an ex or something...”
Cole laughs. “No. I just like the name. Let’s hear yours.”
“Alaia is at the top of my list,” I say, and he smiles.
“Alaia Hoult. It’s perfect, baby. I love it.” Cole says, taking my hand and kissing my fingers.
“You like it?”
“Yes, it’s such a beautiful name. Alaia.”
“Actually... I thought we could give her a middle name. Alaia May Hoult.” Cole repeats the name, smiling.
“Alaia May Hoult, get your ass over here.” He mutters with a frown, then laughs. “I like it. You have to try it out when you’re giving her a full name because she’s in trouble.” I laugh and pinch his cheek.
“You’re so cute. Although, I think she’s going to have you wrapped around her little finger, my love.” I smile, and he shakes his head, licking his lips.
“Of course she will, especially if she comes out looking like a miniature version of you.” He smiles, giving me a sidelong glance as he drives. “My beautiful queen and my mini princess.”
Cole and I went out to eat something before heading home. I’m currently sprawled out on the couch, reading a book, while he was on the phone with someone at the Miami office. I can see him pacing back and forth in his home office, looking pretty annoyed. Twenty minutes later, he comes over to me and drops onto the couch with a heavy sigh. “What’s going on, baby?” I ask, setting my book aside. Cole opens his eyes and looks at me.
“I’m leaving for Miami in an hour,” he tells me with a tired sigh, and I frown, sitting up straight.
“What? Why?” I ask, and he lifts his head, rubbing my thigh.
“There’s some major shit going on with this new airport project. The client is furious and wants to meet with me tomorrow morning.” He explains, running his fingers through his messy hair.
“How long will you be gone?”
Cole licks his lips and looks at me. “It shouldn’t take more than a few days. I doubt it’ll take much longer than that, baby. Do you want to come with me?” he suggests, and I pout, shaking my head.
“I wish I could, but I have that meeting with the Bryson twins about their new flashy club tomorrow afternoon,” I tell him, and he nods with a groan and pulls me toward him until I’m straddling him. “Can’t you send someone else?”
“No. It’s a billion-dollar project. I have to go calm the client down before he gets pissed off and gives it to someone else,” Cole explains, placing his hands on my hips.
“Well, it’s only a few days, baby. It’ll give us time to miss each other a little.” I say with a playful smile, and he presses his forehead against mine.
“Are you already tired of me?”
I hold his face in my hands and look into his eyes. “Tired of you? Are you kidding? It’s impossible to get tired of you with all the tricks you can do with that tongue of yours.” I say with a shy smile, and his lips curve into an arrogant grin as he watches me.
“Careful now, I might start thinking I’m only good for one thing.” He murmurs, brushing his nose against mine.
“Two things,” I whisper mischievously. “You’re good with your dick too.” I correct myself, and he laughs deeply. “Why do you think I married you twice? A good dick is hard to find these days.” I tease him and gasp when he lifts me and lays me on my back on the couch as he crawls over me.
“Just like a good pussy.” Cole breathes, gazing hungrily into my eyes. “Looks like we’re both blessed in that particular department.” He declares eagerly, his emerald-green eyes shining.
“I believe we are.” I kiss him softly as I wind my arms around his neck. “We can use this time apart to do all the fun things we never got around to doing. We skipped the whole dating part of our relationship. Twice.”
Cole looks at me questioningly. “I’m listening...”
I smile and kiss along his jaw. “Well, we can have phone sex...” I whisper in his ear, and he groans. “I can tell you all the things I’ll do to you when I get home.” Cole squeezes my hips a little and grinds his against me. “I can send you some naughty pictures of myself, and you can send me a picture of your dick.”
Cole laughs roughly. “Baby, I’ve never sent a dick pic to anyone.” I bite my lip, smiling wickedly.
“Well, then, here’s your chance, big boy.” Cole laughs, and I pull his mouth to mine, kissing him passionately. We haven’t been apart since we got married, so sending him away was difficult. I’m so used to having him around, and I had this anxious feeling in the pit of my stomach. Cole wraps his arms around me and pulls me against him. “Call me as soon as you get there. I don’t care what time it is,” I tell him, looking at him, and he nods before pressing his forehead against mine.
“I will, I promise.” He replies, holding my face in his hands and kissing me slowly and deliberately, as if he’s trying to carve every inch of my mouth into his brain. “I love you, baby. I’ll see you in a few days. If you need anything while I’m gone, call Josh, okay?”
I nod. “I love you so much. Finish up and hurry home to me.” I wrap my arms around his neck, and he hugs me tightly in return. “I wish you didn’t have to go,” I sigh, and he squeezes me and buries his face in my neck, inhaling deeply.
“Me too, but I’ll be back home with you and our princess very soon.” Cole assures me, and I nod, pulling away. Cole kneels in front of me, places his hands on my stomach, and presses his lips against it, closing his eyes. “Take care of your mommy for me, princess. Daddy will be back before you know it. I love you, little girl.” I watch him with a pout, and he smiles lovingly at me as he stands and kisses me one last time before leaving. I sigh moodily and watch him open the car door. Cole looks at me with a generous smile; he kisses his fingers and places them over his heart. I smile and do the same back to him. We stare at each other for a long moment before he gets into the car and drives away.
I close the door and lean against it with a heavy sigh. I look down at my stomach and press my hand against it. “Looks like it’s just the two of us for a few days, little girl.” I sigh moodily and smile when I feel her kick.
I couldn’t sleep the first night without Cole beside me. I missed him terribly, so I hugged his pillow and waited for him to call. It was a nine-hour flight to Miami—he should have landed by now. It was already past three in the morning in London. I jump when I hear my phone ring and answer desperately. “Cole?”
“Hi, baby.” I sigh when I hear his voice. “I just got to the hotel. Please tell me you haven’t been up all night waiting.”
“I couldn’t sleep without you,” I tell him, and hear him sigh on the other end. “I was worried when you didn’t call.”
“I’m sorry, sweetheart. I wanted to call you as soon as I landed, but my phone signal is weak here,” he explains, shifting around. “You should get some sleep, sweetheart.”
I shake my head. “The house is so empty, and our bed is cold without you.” I sigh, getting emotional again. “I really miss you.”
Cole sighs. “Oh, baby, I miss you so much. Please don’t cry. I’ll be back in two days, okay?” I nod, biting my lip. “Let me see that beautiful face.” I hang up the phone, and it soon beeps, alerting me that he’s requesting a video call. I accept and wait for it to connect. I smile when his handsome face appears on my screen. He smiles seductively. “There’s my baby.”
“Hi, baby.” I sigh, lying down on the bed. We talk for a few hours—he even lets me watch him take a shower. “Hey, the camera’s fogged up. I can’t see anything.” I laugh when he steps out of the shower, dripping wet, and wipes the lens so I can see more clearly.
“Better?” He laughs, hurrying back into the shower again.
“No, better would’ve been me being in that shower with you. I can’t wait to come home.” After his shower, we both lie in bed and talk until my eyes grow heavy, and I finally fall asleep hugging his pillow.
