-Happy Birthday!
I look up from my desk and see Sheila standing in the doorway of my home office—naked, with a cupcake and a candle in her hand. I smile, lean back in my chair, and admire my wife. Four months pregnant with my firstborn, she is absolutely radiant, literally the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. She has a cute little bump that’s finally starting to show. -Lord, have mercy. Show me a more desirable birthday present than you, baby. Bring that sexy ass over here, Mrs. Hoult. I tell her, and she smiles and saunters over to me.
-Make a wish, baby. She says, holding the cupcake with the candle out to me. I lift my gaze to her over the flame and smile.
-Sweetheart, what else could I wish for? I have you. We have a baby on the way and all the success I could dream of. I tell her, and she smiles lovingly and bites her lip.
-You forgot the most important thing—health. You can wish for health, baby. I sigh and look into her eyes. That’s why I love her so much.
-You’re right. There’s nothing more important than our health and the health of our baby. I declare, placing my hand on her belly. Sheila places her hand over mine, and I close my eyes and make my birthday wish: a lifetime of health and happiness... Oh, and a little girl. Of course, I’ll be happy no matter the sex, but I really want a little princess with Sheila’s beautiful eyes, her smile, her long dark hair, and my dimples. My heart melts at the thought of her running around, shouting and calling me Daddy.
-What did you wish for? Sheila asks, watching me with a smile on her face. I blow out the candle and smile at her.
-I can’t tell you, or it won’t come true. I say, pulling her onto my lap and kissing her soft lips. Sheila presses her forehead to mine and caresses my jaw.
-Happy birthday, love of my life. She whispers, and I smile, closing my eyes.
-Thank you, light of my life. I hold her face and kiss her deeply. Sheila suddenly pulls away from the kiss, her eyes wide.
-What is it, baby? I ask, concerned, and she shakes her head and looks down at her belly. Sheila lifts my hand and presses it against her stomach, and I furrow my brow when I feel something bump against my palm. -Wow, that is...
-The baby is kicking. She smiles, nibbling her lip. I lovingly rub her belly and press my forehead to her temple, beaming.
-Sheila, you’ve given me so much to be grateful for. Your love truly changed me and made me a better man. I tell her sincerely, and she smiles, running her thumb over my fingers.
-You’ve always been a good man, Cole. You’ve always had a good heart. That’s all you, not me. She replies and pulls back to look at me. -Now... She says, picking up the cupcake and licking the frosting with the tip of her tongue as she looks at me seductively. I lean in, holding her chin in my hand, and suck the buttercream from her tongue.
-Mm. I groan and watch as she slips away and takes a few steps back, her heated eyes locked on mine.
-What do you say, birthday boy? Want to come downstairs and get dirty? She purrs seductively, spreading cupcake frosting over her breasts. I bite my lip and watch her with hungry eyes.
-Oh, I’m going to devour you, Mrs. Hoult. I growl and close my laptop before standing and walking toward her. Sheila laughs when I pull her into my arms and carry her to the kitchen, my face buried in her breasts, licking and sucking the buttercream from her body as I lay her down on the marble island in the middle of our kitchen. -Have your breasts gotten bigger, or have my hands shrunk? I ask as I cup them, and they no longer fit in my hands.
Sheila lifts her head, laughing. -They’ve definitely gotten bigger. One of the perks of being pregnant. Enjoy. I stare at her breasts with wide eyes and smile like a kid in a candy store.
-Ah, just try to stop me. I groan, burying my face between them, and Sheila laughs. I kiss my way down to her belly, where our baby is growing, and kiss it. -Hi, baby. Daddy can’t wait to meet you. I lift my eyes to Sheila, who is watching me with a beautiful smile on her face as she runs her fingers through my hair. -Do you think the baby can hear me?
Sheila nods, smiling. -The book I’m reading says the baby starts hearing sounds at sixteen weeks, which is how far along I am now. It’s the size of an apple at the moment. She tells me, pushing out her lower lip.
-So, you have a little apple. I coo, nestling against her belly, and she smiles and nods.
-Yes, our little apple is happily floating around in there. She sighs contentedly as I rub her belly. -Mm, that feels good. I watch Sheila close her eyes as I caress her belly. I still find it incredible that a little person is growing inside her now—a tiny bundle made from our combined love, becoming a little human being. Frankly, I’ve never felt so inferior to her or any other woman. We men really are inferior creatures.
-Darling. She calls, and I lift my gaze to hers. She smiles passionately at me, and I feel my heart swell. I’m so in love with her.
-Yes, baby?
-Make me yours. She whispers, and I give her a smile before spreading her legs and enjoying my birthday present. When we finished, there was buttercream everywhere, and we were covered in colorful frosting. We both lay on the kitchen floor, panting with satisfied smiles on our faces. -I’m sticky in places I definitely shouldn’t be. Sheila laughs, and I laugh.
I pant, smearing the frosting I have on my hand across her face, and she slaps my hand, laughing. I roll onto my side and look at her. -We’re always going to do crazy shit like this, okay? I say, reaching over and writing my name on her belly with a heart.
Sheila rolls onto her side, imitating me, and writes her name across my chest over my heart.
-Always. She whispers, and I pull her close, kissing her passionately. -We’d better take a shower. She murmurs against my lips, and I nod.
-Mm, let’s go. I stand and gently help her up, making sure she doesn’t slip in all the buttercream covering the floor. As soon as we’re clear of the buttercream on the floor, I scoop Sheila into my arms and carry her to the upstairs bathroom. We spend a good twenty-five minutes trying to get all the buttercream off our bodies, which is more difficult than I imagined it would be.
-You’re not working tomorrow, right? Sheila asks, running her hands over my back. I shake my head as I wash the shampoo from my hair.
-No. I’m with you all day. I reply, opening my eyes to look at her, and she smiles, nibbling her lip shyly. -Why do I have the feeling you have something planned?
-Because you know me very well. She sings, wrapping her arms around my neck and looking into my eyes.
-That’s for sure, baby. What are we going to do? I ask, intrigued, and she shrugs mischievously before pressing me against the wall.
